So Isaac Mutant dropped a new track called Boef, which you can hear below. Mutant posted the following message on his Soundcloud page when he uploaded the track.

I’M RUFF LIKE; BOEF, BOEF, BOEF!

In case you missed it, we’ve embedded the video for Kak Stirvy too. Mutant dropped his new EP, Dookoom in September last year and a full length album is eagerly awaited. You can download his EP Dookoom here.

Mutant brings that hard edge to hip-hop, like Public Enemy, MF Doom and Death Grips. His music is very abrasive, think early Atari Teenage Riot, but it is riveting at the same time. It’s all off-kilter rhythms, dubby beats, bass squelches, industrial-strength synths and sci-fi video game aesthetic. A soundtrack to an impending apocalypse.

This is life on streets of the Cape Flats, in widescreen high definition. Much has been made of Mutant’s connections to Die Antwoord, however Mutant is a unique voice in the South African musical landscape and his work is very rooted in the Cape Flats.

Coming in at just under twenty minutes across five tracks, Dookoom is clearly a teaser, with more to come. With Dookoom, Isaac Mutant has claimed his space as a voice we need to hear more of in South Africa and hopefully Boef, means a new album is around the corner.
