Vashna Jagarnath is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University Currently Known as Rhodes. She writes and researches on the colonial public sphere and the history of Africana intellectuals with a specific focus on Marxist thought within Pan-Africanism. She also works in the office of the General Secretary of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (Numsa) and is associated with the Movement for Socialism Task Team (MFS) and the Numsa Research & Policy Institute (NuRPI).
